HNC/D Computer Studies

Course Structure and Content

On this course students can, subject to various conditions, design their own study programme by selecting modules from any of the other courses. In this way, students can choose to combine those areas that they find most interesting or will provide the skills appropriate for a particular career.

Timetable constraints are likely to restrict the combinations of modules that can be studied and some modules require knowledge prior to joining the course. Students on the other courses can transfer to this one should their original choice be inappropriate.

Subject to various conditions, students can choose any modules from the other courses described on these pages for their second year options.

This course involves attending on more than one day per week.

Further Qualifications

Students who complete the HND successfully may progress straight on to the second year of the BSc(Hons) degree in Computer Studies.

Entry Requirements

The overriding consideration when admitting students is whether they are likely to succeed on the course. In particular, mature students (over 21) may be exempt from the standard entry requirements. All prospective students are welcome to speak to an admissions tutor about their qualifications and which course is most likely to suit them.

Course Structure and Content

These are the modules you could expect to study on this course.

Your choice of optional modules after your first year will depend on those you have studied in preceeding year(s). Also, it is possible that modules may occasionally be changed or restructured in order to keep the course up to date with latest trends in the industry.
