This module provides students with the opportunity to undertake a major piece of individual study in the broad areas of computing and computer applications.
Normally projects will be drawn from commercial, industrial or research-based problem areas, involving the student in researching and investigating aspects of applied computing, visualisation or multimedia and then producing a major deliverable (software package, design, animation, web-site etc.).
The original research and the project process will be fully reported in an accompanying dissertation. The written dissertation and presentation of results of the project are assessed with weightings of 70:30 for dissertation:presentation.
The project management process affords supported opportunities for goal setting, reflection and critical evaluation of achievement, thus providing a setting for Personal Development Planning.
