Students take this module to develop and expand their understanding, experience and abilities in the developing of rendering and image synthesis algorithms and techniques.

The module includes an in-depth look at a wide range of advanced rendering algorithms and methods of implementing such techniques within integrated environments.

This module will provide students with a thorough grasp of the state of the art in image synthesis.

On successful completion of this module, the student will be able to

• Critically appraise new developments and new techniques in rendering and image synthesis.
• Create advanced rendering systems.
• Develop appropriate and efficient solutions to a wide range of image synthesis problems and situations.

Student achievement will be measured by In-Course Assessment. This will be an incremental development of a complete rendering solution, making use of an appropriate advanced rendering methodology.

Rendering is a pre-requisite for this module.
