Animation for Games

This module will introduce students to the skills required for producing animation for computer games.

Emphasis will be placed on developing core animation skills and applying them to a variety of different gaming environments.

Students will explore the technical issues around the different types of animation required within a computer game and the tools available to achieve it.

An appreciation of industry processes will be gained and the implications of continued improvement of both hardware and software will be considered.

Student achievement is measured by In-Course Assessment, where students will be required to show a thorough understanding of the animation process for use in a computer game environment.

Introduction to 3D Modelling for Games is a pre-requisite for this module.

This module must be studied in conjunction with Environment Modelling for Games.
