Computing Mathematics

This module develops the mathematical ability of students and provides the mathematical skills required for later use on their course.

Computing Mathematics deals specifically with topics in discrete mathematics which form the basis of the notation used in the specification of software and covers an introduction to the elementary mathematical functions and their properties. The module also introduces matrices and their application in solving linear equations and describing geometric transformations.

On successful completion of this module, the student will be able to

The module will be assessed by a single examination. Self-diagnostic tests will be available for students to assess their progress on the module.
