Conceptual Design and Creativity

This module takes the student beyond the authoring components associated with design, encouraging them to consider design from a conceptual point of view. Composition, graphic design (traditional and digital) uses of colour and text are all considered from an abstract viewpoint.

The focus of this module is on the exposure to the creative process and application of the findings to an approach for design. The conclusions from this process are applied to form a strategy for creating or increasing the perceived value of an object or product.

A record of research will be assembled in the form of, for example, objects, media authored applications, writing, drawing and photography that supports the development of the student's work.
