This module aims to develop skills in one or more authoring environments.
Students will be introduced to a range of multimedia titles in various formats in order to broaden their experience and multimedia literacy.
After initial subjective 'reading' of titles, further in-depth analysis of both on-line, off-line and hybrid applications is undertaken against various criteria, both technical and academic.
Students will gain an awareness of the relationship between content and interface design and an understanding of the use and balance of different media within a multimedia context.
With this level of multimedia literacy, the students are then required to develop a concept of a viable multimedia product. This requires defining content and concepts, creating an initial design specification and the development of a multimedia prototype.
