Digital Content Development

This module introduces the students to a range of different digital media including vector and bitmap graphics, video and sound. Various software applications will be used to edit and manipulate the different media types.

Design considerations including file formats, file size, compression, quality and compatibility will be introduced but emphasis will be given to the practical aspects of using multimedia technology and students will experience capturing, editing, manipulating and embedding of digital media.

The assessment will require the students to develop a portfolio of digital media that demonstrates design and editing skills as well as knowledge regarding the implications and influence that digital content theory has on the development and delivery of such digital media.
