This module aims to explore the many creative and technical issues associated with two dimensional digital drawing, manipulation and management.

Students will be encouraged to transfer traditional design principles of layout, typography, form and colour from a paper-based environment to a desktop computer environment.

The module explores issues associated with working with object based or vector graphics alongside the more traditional methods of image production.

Digital Drawing allows students develop an understanding of the digital drawing process and an appreciation of the current digital publishing trends.

On successful completion of this module, the student will be able to

• Demonstrate the importance of composition, colour and text in the creation of a successful publishing experience.
• Compose two dimensional digital drawings through the creative application of software and hardware.
• Identify the role of digital drawing techniques in the development of web based animation.

Student achievement will be measured by In-Course Assessment, marked at concept, development and production stages.
