This module will explore strategies for developing creative expression through the practice of drawing.

Students will be encouraged to connect the processes of drawing with those of a range of conceptual, manual and digital media. They will also examine the history of drawing in the humanist tradition, and the use of the human form as a design element.

On successful completion of this module, the student will be able to

• Compose representations and abstractions of the human form with a personal vocabulary of mark-making.
• Create visual situations with a range of media.

Student achievement will be measured by In-Course Assessment.

Drawing and Composition 2 is a pre-requisite for this module.
