3D Visual and Special Effects are an invaluable part of the film, broadcast and commercial media industries.
This module seeks to introduce the student to basic 3D special effects and methods to produce them using standard 3D software and techniques. Core basic techniques will be covered, enabling the student to understand basic methods and practice.
Through practical work, students will gain essential skills and practice on real world problems. The module will specifically encourage students to develop whilst they look for their own solutions to complex visual problems.
The module ties up with and compliments the Digital Compositing modules.
The lecture series will give the student the theoretical concepts required to fully engage with the practical processes and will cover new and developing procedures not covered in the practical sessions.
The teaching emphasis will be placed on the labour intensive, hands-on practical work needed to produce work of a high standard as required by this industry.
