Emerging Technologies

This module forms a study of the major current and proposed areas of change in the use of computers, the impact of these changes and their likely developments on hardware and software configurations, and on the ways that organisations and individuals will work due to these changes.

Particular emphasis will be placed on the legal and ethical implications of any new technologies.

On successful completion of this module, the student will be able to

Student achievement will be measured by an In-Course Assessment split into two components.

The first component contributes 30% of the module mark and consists of a piece of research done in a study group on a broad area of technology.

The second component contributes 70% of the module mark and will consist of an individual report, which will delve deeper into a particular emerging technology chosen from those examined in the first component.
