Games Design and Production 1

This module forms an introduction to the principles of computer games design in terms of games structure and playability.

Including industry and game genre history, the module will explore the principles of how a game is constructed in terms of its attractiveness, structure, balance, complexity, addictiveness, originality and graphical style.

Students gain an appreciation of the history and development of games design and an understanding of the developing state-of-the-art in this field.

On successful completion of this module, the student will be able to

History of Games is a pre-requisite for this module.

Games Design and Production 2 must be taken in conjunction with this module.
