The module aims to develop skills in one authoring environment and introduces a range of multimedia titles in various formats in order to broaden experience and multimedia literacy.
During the module analysis of both on-line and off-line applications are undertaken against various criteria, both technical and academic.
The study of the design and authoring of multimedia applications is undertaken and design principles which enable user interaction are introduced.
Theoretical concepts of multimedia are discussed to enable students to develop a multimedia application from requirement specification to design, including testing and evaluation.
With this level of multimedia literacy the students will be required to develop and implement a viable multimedia prototype. This multimedia prototype will be a Media Rich Application developed using industry standard software.
The students are required to build the application using small interchangeable components. Each of these components can be incorporated into the final application or stand-alone as a simple application.
On successful completion of this module, the student will be able to
Student achievement will be measured by an In-Course Assessment.
