Introduction to 3D Modelling for Games

This module will introduce the student to the design and modelling techniques used in the production of 3D models for use within computer games and other real time applications such as Virtual Reality.

Lectures will be used to explain the principles of the modelling tools available in advanced modelling software and to expose the students to examples of how these techniques have been used in the production of finished computer games.

In practical terms, the module will be aided by the use of industry standard modelling software and hardware with specific attention being given to those parts which are used by practising game modellers.

On successful completion of this module, the student will be able to

Student achievement will be measured by a single In-Course Assessment.
