This module builds on the work done in the second year Learner Modelling module.

In this module students will learn about the development and administration of a course to be delivered via a virtual learning environment such as Blackboard or Moodle.

Students will further develop their skills in accessibility standards and technologies, as well as increase their awareness of emerging standards and legislation relating to the development of learning technology.

A piece of research will be undertaken by students into an area of learning technology. This will involve a literature review of current publications relevant to their chosen topic.

During the module students will be encouraged to identify samples of work for inclusion in a professional portfolio.

On successful completion of this module, the student will be able to

• Formulate a design for the delivery of a course via a virtual learning environment.
• Manage the delivery of this course via a virtual learning environment.
• Conduct a literature review in the field of learning technology in order to support course development.
• Create learning technology solutions that conform to appropriate standards and legislation.

Student achievement will be measured by an In-Course Assessment.

Learner Modelling is a pre-requisite for this module.
