Middleware

This module covers the set of programming techniques and concepts related to the creation of games software using industry standard middleware products. The module also aims to enhance games programming skills in general and to further the student's knowledge of object oriented programming techniques.

Uses of computer games industry standard middleware products and associated development tools will be demonstrated and programming techniques which extend or provide new functionality to the game engine introduced.

On successful completion of this module, the student will be able to

Student achievement will be measured by In-Course Assessment involving analysis, design and implementation stages in the construction of a games engine using industry standard middleware products and software development tools.

C++ Programming 2 and Games Technology are re-requisites for this module.
