The operating systems concepts introduced in the Computer Systems module are developed further through the detailed study of the structure of a 'teaching' operating system. The 'teaching' operating system will also be used to explore file systems and networked systems.
The student will gain a detailed understanding of the internal structure typical of modern operating systems and will also explore relevant design and implementation issues.
