Procedural Animation

This module introduces students to a wide range of techniques and algorithms in the field of animation, where that animation is governed by procedural rules and functions rather than keyframing by an animator.

These problems include the deformation of objects, behavioural simulation, facial animation, muscle movement and a wide range of related techniques.

The module aims to familiarize students with the full extent of the state of the art in techniques and algorithms for procedural animation and to encourage exploration, experimentation and creation in the development of their work.

On successful completion of this module, the student will be able to

Student achievement is measured by In-Course Assessment.

Rendering is a pre-requisite for this module.
