This module integrates and develops the concepts introduced in earlier security modules, enabling students to design secure systems.

A range of security system technologies will be introduced during the module. Cryptography will be introduced as an enabling technology.

Students will learn to apply these technologies in practice and to critically evaluate their effectiveness.

On successful completion of this module, the student will be able to

• Critically evaluate the security and assurance requirements for the design of a system.
• Design, develop and implement security mechanisms and procedures for through-life security management.

Student achievement will be measured by an In-Course Assessment.

Security Technology is a pre-requisite for this module.
