This module will introduce animators to scripting and advanced use of expressions.

Students will be made aware of good programming practice within an animation scripting environment. Use of scripting facilities will be made to produce custom animation controls and specialised tools.

The module will explore the features available for advanced simulation. A large part of the module will cover the appropriate use of custom tools to improve productivity in the creation of 3D animation and will demonstrate a professional approach to its construction.

On successful completion of this module, the student will be able to

• Construct custom tools to enhance productivity in creation of 3D animation.
• Design and implement scripts in a professional manner.
• Evaluate the efficiency of techniques for improving productivity in the generation of computer animation.

Student achievement will be measured by In-Course Assessment.

3D Computer Animation Production is a pre-requisite for this module.
