Technical Asset Creation

This module will provide participants who are on technical courses with an appreciation of the creation methods and considerations involved in creating artistic assets, including 3D Graphics, 2D Graphics and Sound.

An appreciation of the methods involved in Graphics and Sound creation will allow students to produce any simple assets they will require to support the software that they create throughout their degree and in future employment.

Students who may wish to produce "plug-ins" and other creative tools will learn to appreciate the creative process and practical function of industry standard software in order to produce effective software.

Students will learn how to use industry standard 2D Graphics, 3D Graphics and sound creation and manipulation software. They will also be made aware of the methods and limitations involved in transferring assets from dedicated asset creation packages into the environment they will be used in, such as a Games Engine.
