North-Eastern IT Reach-out (NITRO) is an exciting new multimillion pound project linking research groups in four of the region's universities with small and medium sized organisations. Within Teesside the RIME group (Research into Interactive Multimedia Education) offers the NITRO services to the local business community. The groups relevant research and enterprise expertise is in a number of areas based around web accessibility and inclusion issues and data driven web services. The NITRO project can offer awareness and best practice workshops needs analysis and web accessibility audits, web design reviews and a bespoke development or consultancy service. These are all in the area of usability and accessibility issues relevant to a web presence, web marketing or web-services (including accessibility standards and the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act, 1995). Additionally through NITRO's links to One NorthEast initiatives including the digital centre of excellence Codeworks NITRO can offer a brokerage to a very wide range of high quality research and consultancy services through its connections with the leading research departments of the regional Universities.
