The School of Computing offers two undergraduate degree pathways that share a common core, involving the study of: music technology and the creative uses thereof, recording studios, post-production and contemporary music theory, composition, orchestration and arranging.
BSc (Hons) Music Software Development adds studies in programming, software development, graphical user interface design, and music plug-in and application development.
BA (Hons) Digital Music Creation allows students to add some studies in animation, games, and multimedia.
In addition, the new BA (Hons) Digital Music & Animation, BA (Hons) Digital Music & Computer Games Design and BA (Hons) Digital Music & Digital Media degrees all explore the creation, recording and production of music using specialised computer music software and hardware. Music studies in harmony, composition and orchestration are also examined, along with in depth explorations into computer animation, computer games design or digital media.
