This module introduces the most commonly used software tools within a digital media based studio, covering image editing, video editing and audio editing.
Students will be introduced to a range of multimedia titles in various formats in order to broaden their experience and digital media literacy.
The various file types and compression methods available for digital media assets will be introduced and the relationship between content and interface design explored.
Analysis of both on-line and off-line applications will be undertaken against various criteria, both technical and academic.
Emphasis will be given to the practical aspects of using digital media technology and students will experience capturing, editing, manipulating and embedding of digital media assets.
With this level of literacy the students will be required to develop and implement a viable digital media prototype.
